Abstract
Shortly after its introduction, Crew Resource Management (CRM) showed significant improvement in pilots’ attitudes and effectiveness of teamwork between flightcrew members. The positive changes in safety of flight operation caused great interest of other aviation branches, such as maintenance, ATC, management, etc. This paper represented an overview of the application of CRM in the maintenance area with a focus on Maintenance Resource Management (MRM), a program created for this purpose. The history of the development, including empirical data from in-field observations, and current situation in the industry were discussed in the article. As program advancement continues, the author’s opinion on present and future trends in MRM is included.
