ER-YOU Spotlight
Lead Student Name
Dione Bernard
Executive Summary
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
ER-YOU Spotlight aims to redefine social media and enhance the college experience at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. ER-YOU Spotlight is like Zuckerberg’s idea of starting Facemash in 2003, which later became Facebook in 2004 at Harvard University. Facebook later became the mainstream social media platform on the worldwide web for colleges and inevitably the public. ER-YOU Spotlight aims to lead the innovation of digital resume's, not only for this University, but also for other Ivy-league Universities and Colleges to follow.
ER-YOU Spotlight is an audio-visual, digital footprint for Faculty, Alumni, Current Students and Employees of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. ER-YOU is dedicated to changing the social and interpersonal relationships, between Industry leaders and everyone that contributes to the population of the University, by bridging the gap and building meaningful connections.
OBJECTIVE:
ER-YOU is beneficial to the University because the digital Spotlight would serve as a means of Marketing and Advertising to:
1) Prospective Students as to why this should be their first choice for tertiary education selection. Word of mouth digital marketing from past and current Students, Faculty, Staff and even our Grounds-keepers as to why this is where YOU want to be.
2) Prospective Employers and leaders in the Industry can gain access for free, or they can pay a small fee to take advantage of ER-YOU's database to aid in their Internship and Employment hiring needs. Although this is the purpose of the Career Fair, ER-YOU would not take away, but simply serve as a supplemental means of Talent Acquisition. This innovative idea can be partnered with Handshake and Career Services to be implemented.
3) Peer-peer relations is another way that ER-YOU can be beneficial to the Student Body at large. Students registered on the platform would have access to getting to know their peers and forming connections. Wouldn’t it be a great feeling, to walk into the Student Center or a classroom and be greeted (by name, even with a smile) by someone who've connected with you on ER-YOU Spotlight? Isn’t it important to get to know the people that we encounter daily? ER-YOU would enhance the University experience and create social opportunities to build the ERAU Community and foster life-long friendships.
CONTENT:
ER-YOU Spotlight should be approximately a 2-3-minute-long video (digital resume) answering these brief questions about oneself.
1) Who are you? Name?
2) Where are you from? City/ State/Country?
3) Classification? Freshman? Sophomore? Junior? Senior? Alumni? Faculty? Staff?
4) Major? If applicable? For Faculty: Which courses do you teach? For Staff: Department where you work?
5) Clubs or Organizations? Community Involvement?
6) Why did you choose Embry-Riddle? Or Why is Embry-Riddle a great place to work?
7) Students: Career Goals? Faculty and Staff: How long have you been a part of the ERAU Community?
8) Conclude with ‘’Please follow my link in bio to contact me.’’ Bio should contain ERAU email address and/or link to LinkedIn and Handshake or Office location for Faculty and Staff. Everyone should look their best and Career Fair is a great opportunity to start filming since everyone would/should be in Professional attire.
