Abstract
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is a key element in the global economy. The U.S. and China, according to A.T. Kearney index, are ranked top two in the world for attracting foreign investment. The purpose of this research is to address the role of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. and China economies. It presents economic analyzes - based on UNCTAD and BEA data base - related to inward U.S. and China FDI stock and flow. The collected data will be used to compare inward US FDI and China FDI analyzing the following characteristics: FDI flows and stock as a percentage of GDP, industry sectors distribution, employment, reinvested earnings, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and Greenfield investment. The results will be presented in the form of graphs and tables and will provide valuable information regarding U.S. and China Inward FDI comparison.
