Abstract

We plan to educate the community about the Bethune Point Waste Water Facility, specifically elementary students in Volusia County. We plan to construct a ten-minute curriculum that includes a lecture with a hands-on activity to educate elementary students about wastewater treatment at Bethune Point Waste Water Facility. The process of wastewater treatment is not usually taught at the elementary school level, so we plan to reach the community at a younger age with this project. It is essential that the elementary school students understand the process of filtration and purification when they flush materials down toilet or wash them down the drain.
