Abstract
The goal of user experience is to refurbish products and services in order to present the best outcome to its customers based on their opinions. From an educational perspective, the student introduces the investigation into perspectives and experiences in their degree program. The understanding of opinions about the university’s programs from a student’s perspective will aid departments in offering the best experience and education.
In order to examine the user experience of students, interviews will be conducted by looking at how they would describe their experience in degree programs by identifying adjectives and collecting stories that relate to those adjectives. These adjectives were obtained by a trial run of the experiment by casually asking students to describe their individual experiences in their department. The collection of adjectives will be used to develop an instrument that will assess departmental experience for students and will provide departments with a way that they can formatively change. The results to this study have not yet been finalized. The completion of this investigation will create a way for departments and courses to be more focused on the iterative improvement process.
Did this research project receive funding support (Spark, SURF, Research Abroad, Student Internal Grants, Collaborative, Climbing, or Ignite Grants) from the Office of Undergraduate Research?
