Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University LEAD-ER Program
The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Leadership Institute (LI) has been established to provide programs and services that strengthen the leadership knowledge, abilities, talent, and career potential of ERAU faculty and staff. LI professional staff collaborates with campus and community stakeholders to host monthly and semi-annual leadership workshops for employees to learn ideal leadership traits and behaviors requisite for them to lead groups on and off campus and for professional development. Information in each workshop is based on historical, current, and emerging global leadership research and methods with a focus on leadership effectiveness at ERAU. Topics cover real-world instances of a variety of leadership actions that influence the progress of ERAU locally and globally.
LEAD-ER is a tiered program to build on the professional development and succession of participants as an individual and community contributor. Participants are given individual assignments as well as form leadership teams to analyze and prescribe solutions for a campus or community initiative as well as for personal and professional maturation. The goal is to show participants how to purposefully lead themselves towards a preferred future while engaging in stewardship of their ERAU department and community.
