Who am I, really?

Do I want that – or is that something others want me to want?

How do I know that a thought is my own and not someone else’s script running in my head?

Recognizing our own unique voice – and cultivating our own identities as free, self-aware persons – takes time, reflection, and the help of others.

We are who we are because of our communities – our family, our schools, our friends.

We can describe maturing in wisdom as appreciating what we have received from others and making choices informed by – but not controlled by – those who influence us.
