Abstract/Description
The focus of this AE399 special topic directed study was to perform a survey of the contemporary literature detailing experimental results from the high cycle fatigue testing of Nitinol. As a result of this literature survey, an experimental setup and test plan could be formed in order to perform fatigue research on superelastic Nitinol wire obtained during the Fall 2014 semester. The desired outcome of this directed study was to produce and submit a proposal for Summer 2015 Ignite Grant funding to allow for the continuation of this research into the future. This proposal summarizes the information gathered from various engineering databases utilized to form a focused researched plan for the coming semesters.
