Edward F. Logan, Jr. received primary training at Embry-Riddle Field in Union City, Tennessee in 1943 and later became a pilot for Riddle Airlines in Miami.

Embry-Riddle Aviation Cadet Primary Flight School - Union City, Tennessee, September 1943. On the left, Aviation Cadet Edward F. Logan, Jr. just after his first solo flight (note his goggles on the top of his head, instead of around his neck). "Aviation Cadet standing with me is Donald W. May - we went through the entire Aviation Cadet Program from Basic Military training through graduation together. A fine fellow!"
