Short Description
PoRTAL (Purdue Repository for online Teaching and Learning) is created for anyone interested in online teaching and learning. https://www.purdue.edu/innovativelearning/supporting-instruction/portal/
The digital repository provides strategies, tips, and resources for instructors wanting to learn and improve skills to teach online. This is a campus wide ongoing collaboration in which Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies contribute to key elements like information literacy, copyright, and open educational resources. The Tier 1 (just-in-time, broad level) resources are job aids categorized by users’ needs: 1) Instructor strategies, 2) Course design, 3) Course enhancement, and 4) Policies and procedures.

PoRTAL (Purdue Repository for online Teaching and Learning) is created for anyone interested in online teaching and learning. It is an open educational resource digital repository that is available 24/7 to provide strategies, tips, and resources for instructors wanting to learn more and improve skills to teach online.
PoRTAL repository won 2019 Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Division of Distance Learning Best Practice Award. As part of an institutional level support network, PoRTAL (Purdue Repository for online Teaching and Learning) is developed through campus wide collaboration involving Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies, Purdue Online, Learning Design and Technology, Teaching and Learning Technologies, and Center for Instructional Excellence. Information professionals in this project contribute to key elements like information literacy, copyright, open educational resources, and so on. The content was evaluated with project derived 15-point checklist. The Tier 1 (just-in-time, broad level) resources are job aids categorized by users’ needs: 1) Instructor strategies, 2) Course design, 3) Course enhancement, and 4) Policies and procedures. The Tier 2 self-paced training opportunities for more in-depth learning is currently underway.
