Proposal Synopsis

Librarians with disparate skillsets and job descriptions often work together on projects in service of their organizational and mutual goals. As the understanding that all learners are online learners becomes more widely-held, academic libraries must respond in congruence with the programs and learners they support. To that end, two librarians – one subject specialist, one technology specialist and self-taught video editor – offer their own collaboration as a model for the creation of library instructional video content in response to their students’ online learning needs.

In this lightning talk, the presenters will detail their strategies for collaborative, remote video creation. This lightning talk will include a discussion of best practices for subject librarian collaboration with a technology-specialized librarian, tips and tricks for a professional product, and leveraging the resources of our library and the college we serve when it comes to hosting, organizing, and promoting our video content.
