Using CATME to Better Manage Teams to Improve Experiences
Session Format
In-person Presentation
Proposal Synopsis
This workshop will introduce a web-based team management tool, CATME. Following the state-of-art scientific findings, this tool suite could help instructors optimize team formation based on given criteria. In addition, it could also administrate self- and self-evaluation of team member effectiveness on a behavioral-anchored rating scale to help students improve teamwork competency and provide instructors with evidence to monitor the team dynamics. The features of the tool suite will be discussed and a demo for team formation will be delivered. While this session will focus on the application of CATME, more fundamental knowledge and theory on teamwork, team facilitation, and feedback in the online learning environment will be further discussed in the keynote speech delivered by Dr. Matthew Ohland.
