Special Performance of The Flying Hobos

The Flying Hobos is an interactive living history play that demonstrates the life and accomplishments of the first African Americans to fly across the United States. In 1932, James Herman Banning and co-pilot, Thomas C. Allen, became the first Black pilots to fly coast-to-coast from Los Angeles, California to Long Island, New York.

The National Training Aircraft Symposium (NTAS) serves as a forum for aviation professionals from academia, government, and industry to exchange ideas and learn about ways to address problems in the aviation industry.

NTAS allows various stakeholders to discuss problems and potential solutions in areas such as flight training, human factors, leadership, aviation maintenance, safety, technology, virtual reality, air traffic management, urban air mobility, STEM education, and other emerging issues in aviation. This forum is committed to providing a venue for aviation professionals to interact with one another, to explore new ideas, and to build new relationships that result in better training and education.

Join us Fall 2022 as we discuss some of the most important issues of the day related to training, workforce development, diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), and sustainability. Our conference will address current DE&I challenges and how we can collaborate to create a future that offers everyone the opportunity and ability to thrive.

The Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education and Research (JAAER) is the official journal of NTAS.
